Beckley Psytech appoints renowned psychedelic experts to Scientific Advisory Board

Beckley Psytech, the psychedelic medicine company, has appointed a series of respected figures from the psychiatric and psychedelic research fields to its Scientific Advisory Board, bringing decades of expertise to its research programme. The new appointees include:

  • Professor Guy Goodwin, Senior Research Fellow at the Department of Psychiatry, The University of Oxford
  • Dr Robin L. Carhart-Harris PhD, Director of the Centre for Psychedelic Research at Imperial College London
  • Professor Matthew W. Johnson PhD, Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine
  • Frederick Reinholdt MA, Senior Therapist in Psychedelics at The Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience, King’s College London

The Scientific Advisory Board, chaired by psychedelic research pioneer Lady Amanda Feilding, oversees Oxford-based Beckley Psytech’s development of a pipeline of psychedelic drugs into licensed pharmaceutical medicines for treating debilitating psychiatric and neurological diseases.

The new appointments build upon Beckley Psytech’s pool of talent spanning the psychedelic and pharmaceutical fields, and follows the $3.8m funding secured earlier this year as the company continues to advance its research programmes, including its exploration of a synthetic pharmaceutical formulation of the short-acting psychedelic agent 5-MeO-DMT.
