IRVINE, Calif – January 30, 2020 – MyJane, the women’s-focused cannabis retail subsidiary of ManifestSeven (M7 or the “Company”), is proud to announce the launch of its new cause-marketing relationship with social enterprise International Sanctuary in recognition of Human Trafficking Prevention Month.
The alliance empowers young women escaping human trafficking to heal, grow and thrive through job training, employment, education and long-term restorative care. This endeavor is MyJane’s first philanthropic initiative under the leadership of new President Hélène Blanchette.
“For a wellness business created by women, for women, I can think of no other social cause more worthy of our support than one that makes a difference in our own backyard here in Orange County and that aligns with our authentic commitment to empowering women,” Blanchette said. “We’re committed to supporting the great work that International Sanctuary is doing to empower women who are victims of human trafficking in our community, and we look forward to expanding our support for this cause through other innovative strategic partnerships and collaborations in the years ahead.”
“Survivors around the world are in need of a loving, safe work environment where they can become empowered women,” said International Sanctuary founder, Wendy Dailey. “This project provides more job opportunities for young women building their futures, while growing awareness as we give a voice to the voiceless.”
To kick off the first month of this partnership, MyJane purchased more than 1,000 pieces from International Sanctuary’s PURPOSE line of jewelry handcrafted by trafficking survivors to incorporate into the Company’s newest collection of curated cannabis boxes for women. MyJane also will donate a percentage of every curated CBD box sale back to the organization, directly aiding survivors in Orange County and throughout Southern California.
International Sanctuary provides safe, loving workplace communities for girls and women escaping human trafficking. They are non-residential community centers, where survivors receive professional training in jewelry making, employment opportunities, and a chance to heal, grow and thrive. The Sanctuaries give girls and women a community to belong to, providing a space where they are able to love and be loved, feel safe, and where they are able to heal, grow, and experience unconditional love from their coworkers as well as trauma-informed staff. For many of the survivors, this is the first healthy community they have experienced.
MyJane is set to release a number of new curated box collections throughout 2020, featuring a full assortment of pieces from the Sanctuary’s PURPOSE line. These will range from small bracelets to 14-carat plated necklaces.
